One Friday a month we show a classic movie at 7:30 pm. Popcorn is served and discussion is led by Bill Maxwell, local resident, retired NYC policeman and film buff. There is no registration for these movies and all are welcome. Shane, a 1953 western stars Alan Ladd, Jean Arthur and Van Heflin. It was nominated for 6 academy awards and in 2008 the American Film Institute named it third on their list of the best westerns.

The library's series, "Bollywood 101: Greatest Hits of Hindi Cinema," concludes at 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 5th with Rajkumar Hirani's Lage Raho Munna Bhai.
The films chosen for the OPL winter film series are rarely screened despite strong retrospective interest, very good reviews and unmistakable cinematic style.
The final film in the Blacklisted Hollywood Fall Film Series at the OPL is "Trumbo" (2007) on Wednesday, December 2nd at 7 p.m. in the Budarz Theater.
The first film in this series is titled, "Sabotage" (1936) starring Sylvia Sydney and Oskar Homolka on January 6th.
