Help for first-time visitors to this website

Welcome to the Westchester Library System (WLS) website! Below are some tips on how best to use this website and explanations of the type of information you can find.

TOP RIGHT CORNER - The WLS Catalog

The WLS catalog consists of all the items owned by the 38 Westchester libraries and their branches. Anyone can search the Catalog, but in order to place a hold on, or download an item, you must have a library card from your local library within Westchester County, or a System card. Click here for information on how to get a library card.

ACROSS THE TOP - Tools & Resources

WLS provides digital services which include downloadable audiobooks and various online resources including: learning programs software, magazines, newspapers, databases and other resources, even in Spanish. You can connect to these materials via the tabs across the top of the website.

TO THE LEFT - Audience-specific sections

To better assist users in finding the resources we offer, we have created quick links and audience-specific sections of our website that provide information developed to meet the specific needs of certain groups. These are located along the left-side of the page and are a good starting point for the first-time user.
